Carmelite Cemetery
We are especially blessed at the Shrine to have the privilege and honor to be the final resting place for many of our Carmelite Friars. The cemetery is a beautiful, peaceful place on the  fringes of our property. It is home to several beautiful statues.
Celtic Cross
St. Elias Statue
The first Carmelites in the U.S. arrived from Ireland
in New York City in 1889.
This lovely Celtic Cross dedicated to the North American Province of St. Elias, stands in our cemetery and is another reminder of our Irish heritage.
Carmelites consider the Prophet Elijah to
 be their spiritual founder.

This lovely statue sits in our cemetery and holds
 watch over its precious contents.
