St Albert Statue Cloister Walk

The statue of St. Albert of Trapani greets visitors
as they enter the parking lot.

He is the patron of Carmelite schools and was a provincial and preacher.

The Cloister walk connects the main Chapel to
other areas of the Shrine, such as the Gift Store.

It also contains the Carmelite
Stations of the Cross.

Mary Garden Meditation Garden

Our newest edition to enhance the property
is a Mary Garden.
The site chosen is the St. Simon Stock
Scapular Vision Shrine.

It is the first things most visitors see
as they approach the grounds.

The Meditation Garden is a place to sit in quiet
and reflect upon God and nature.

St. Therese Garden Baba Gondo

There can be no more fitting Shrine for St. Therese D'Lisieux,
the "Little Flower", than this magnificent rose garden.

This majestic Eagle, carved from a tree trunk, is dedicated to
Fr. Mathias DeLauries, O. Carm.
Fr. Matt was the first Director of the Shrine.

During his ministry in Africa he received
the nickname "Baba Gondo". Baba means Father and Gondo means eagle, in reference to the American eagle.

Carmelite Stations of the Cross Brother Bernard Picnic Grove
Under the Cloister Walk, our Stations of the Cross
depict the traditional sufferings of Jesus

A unique feature is the presence of St. Theresa Benedidicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) and Bl. Titus Brandsma, two Carmelites executed in Nazi concentration camps, in each Station.
